So, it's still a few days till launch, but I'd figure I'd start this thread up for future reference, especially for tournament use.
So, I'm personally under the assumption that this game is going to be very balanced. I mean, Capcom's had ten years to work out the characters kinks especially with returning characters like Magneto and Sentinel.
Now, it's clear that Megneto has been effectively nerfed and I'll have to see how they've tweaked Sentinel (i.e removing his flying overheads and cancelable laser->rocket punches) but other characters seem untouched. Specifically Storm and Iron Man. Storm is her usual powerhouse self and Iron Man is easily the least changed returning character. So we'll see. I'll update this thread once I get my hands on the game.
Aside from imbalance is the problem of spamming. It's no stranger to Capcom fighters. Pretty much since the birth of the hadouken there have been those who are naturally prone to be spam-happy. My concern, however, is that they've made it way to easy to spam in MvC3 and that the fighting world really doesn't seem to care.
For instance, I was watching the latest edition of Gamespot's MvC3 Tourney (round 2) and this one guy sat in a corner and just spammed magneto's magnetic disruptor for at least a minute and all Seth Killian, who was commenting, said was "Oh he's really unloading now". He was clearly spamming the ***** out of that thing! In fact, I don't think I've seen anyone spit off that many magnetic disruptors in succession so quickly. Which makes me wonder, has spamming just become an acceptable strategy? I mean there are certainly people who spend a lot of time building a strategy based soley on spamming. And, with this title especially, capcom seems to be endorsing it. Look at characters like M.O.D.O.K and Arthur. They're designed to sit in a corner and blast the ***** out of you.
But I digress, if you have any further thoughts, rebuttals, or complaints of broken characters or spamming, place them here.
